Promote Free and Democratic Elections

“We pledge to strengthen democratic participation in our community.”

We commit to do the following:

• Provide volunteers, members, and partner communities with information on voter registration, status checks, early voting, and voting deadlines
• Train volunteers to support election participation (poll workers and monitors)
• Running nonpartisan voter-education campaigns
• Partnering with local groups to reach under-resourced or low-turnout communities
• Amplifying partner voter turnout communications
• Share accurate, verified information about voting rights and election procedures
• Create multilingual or accessible materials for communities with barriers to participation

Take Strategic and Nonviolent Action

“If democratic processes are threatened, we pledge to respond with nonviolent actions.”

We commit to do the following:

• Sponsoring or co-sponsoring nonviolent demonstrations
• Organizing or joining targeted boycotts
• Engaging in organizational or coalition-based noncooperation
• Hosting emergency community meetings or teach-ins
• Offering advocacy expertise (legal, communications, organizing) to protect democratic processes
• Coordinating with local organizations for collective action
• Mobilizing volunteers for rapid response
• Creating alternative information hubs to counter misinformation

Be Prepared

“We pledge to prepare ourselves and our community so we can act.”

We commit to do the following:

• Host de-escalation and nonviolent response trainings
• Create a safety plan to protect volunteers, staff, and community members
• Build a rapid-response communication tree (email, Signal, phone banks, socials)
• Set aside time, resources, or funds for rapid response
• Partner with local civic or community groups

Solidarity

“If individuals or communities are targeted, we pledge to stand with them.”

We commit to do the following:

• Provide financial assistance to targeted individuals or groups
• Develop a protocol for supporting staff, volunteers, or community members who are targeted
• Support, sponsor, or participate in standouts, vigils, and other nonviolent actions
• Use organizational communications to amplify verified information and counter misinformation
• Offer organizational space, meals, or logistical support
• Provide accompaniment or safety support for vulnerable individuals
• Connect targeted individuals with legal aid, advocacy partners, or community resources
• Mobilize coalition partners to respond collectively
